I hope it's rentals...I noticed that construction had stopped on the "Beer Garden" a while back...something must be going on

A group led by Alex Vadia had purchased the lot a while back and planned to build the beer garden to hold them over. I believe someone then came in and offered them more money so they sold it which is why the construction of the beer garden stopped.

I remember thinking how cool this looked when I was younger. Now I think it could be way better. This city's standards have really risen when it comes to the design quality of many big projects. We have designs by the likes of Zaha, Koolhaas, Snohetta, Herzog & de Meuron, and Bjarke Ingels to compare them too.

I think the architectural quality of this building boom is much higher than that of the last.

I'm making broad generalizations, of course.

Agree, but that Flatiron design looks just as fresh as it did in 2005.

Although still no official confirmation of the transaction, word is that the sale price is $18.5 million

Let's see if Related keeps the original design, if not then I hope they go for something more similar to 1100 Millecento than to Icon Bay.
