    Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport
    January 2012 Traffic Recap

Total traffic for January 2012 was 2,042,122, down 1.2% compared to January 2011. Domestic
traffic was up slightly, .5% and international traffic was down 9.8%. Spirit’s international capacity
was down 18.2% and had a significant impact in overall international activity.

January commercial operations totaled 20,000, down 2.4%. General Aviation totaled 3,871, also
down 2.4%. Total aircraft movements for the period were 23,871, down 2.4% over last year.

Airlines leading the way in traffic growth were:
    Virgin +37.3%
    Continental +14.1%
    American +13.7%
    JetBlue +12.3%

Carriers on the negative side included:
    Spirit -12.4%
    AirTran -9.4%
    Southwest -6.2%
    Delta down -5.4%

Traffic for February should show a slight improvement due to the addition of February 29th.
However, overall traffic will continue to improve with the addition of new service by several
    carriers:

JetBlue to Kingston, Jamaica in April and Bogota, Colombia in May
Spirit to Denver starting in May
Air Tran to San Juan, Puerto Rico in May
A new airline for us, Alaska Airlines will begin service to Seattle in July

The outlook for 2012 remains optimistic. The addition of the new service mentioned above will
have a positive impact on overall capacity.
    Month % Change
    Feb 2.2%
    Mar 1.4%
    Apr -1.3%
    May 0.0%
    Jun 1.8%
    Jul 1.9%

Two wild cards that could affect traffic growth are the price of fuel and Spirit’s commitment to
return capacity to FLL by mid-year. Spirit’s addition of Denver service and future schedules
indicate that they will begin to add capacity gradually over the next few months. Regarding the
price of fuel, jet fuel is presently $3.33 per gallon, up 9.2% over the same time last year. Several
carriers have added a fuel surcharge to the price of their tickets.

January market share data for the top 10 carriers are listed below.

    Spirit 357,980 17.5%
    JetBlue 350,484 17.2%
    Southwest 311,526 15.3%
    Delta 254,482 12.5%
    US Airways 158,367 7.8%
    Continental 139,473 6.8%
    American 116,977 5.7%
    AirTran 92,302 4.5%
    Air Canada 65,622 3.2%
    Virgin 40,392 2.0%

February 2012 monthly traffic report for MIA:

    Total traffic rose 10.55%

    International traffic was up 13.28%

AA traffic at MIA was up 10.86%, while Eagle traffic fell 0.7%

Very strong performance across the board for nearly every airline at MIA. As of now, it looks like MIA will easily surpass 40m passengers this year for the first time ever.

    Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport
    February 2012 Traffic Recap

Assisted by leap year’s extra day, total traffic for February 2012 was 2,006,399, up 4.8% over February
last year. If the month is adjusted to last year’s comparable 28 days, traffic growth remained positive.

February commercial operations totaled 19,242, up 2.1% over last year. General Aviation totaled 3,440,
down 7.5%. Total aircraft movements for the period were 22,682, up .5% over last year.

Leading the way in traffic growth were the following airlines:
    Virgin +39.3%
    American +29.4%
    Continental +14.9%
    JetBlue +12.6%
    Southwest + 4.6%

    These carriers saw negative traffic:
    Spirit - 3.4%
    Airtran - 6.9%
    Delta - 6.6%

On the international side, Canada was very strong with traffic up 21.3% over February last year. Condor
continued to do very well and finished the month with a load factor of 93%.

A significant development is the increase in load factor for the past several months. Prior to that time,
load factors were leveling off on a year over year comparison. From October 2011 to February 2012, the
average load factor increased by 2%. Seats for the period were down 1.7% but total traffic was up .5%.

This relatively small increase has a huge impact on total traffic. A 2% increase on a 150 seat aircraft is 3
passengers. At an average of 600 flights a day, that is 5,400 passengers a day, 54,000 per month, and
    648,000 per year!

Southwest Airlines is a good example of this impact. Southwest total seats for February were up .2% but
their total traffic was up 4.6%. Again, the impact of load factor cannot be overstated.

As mentioned in previous discussions, Spirit’s reduction in capacity continues to impact total traffic. The
positive trend in load factor coupled with addition of new service should help to offset Spirit’s impact.

    Upcoming new service includes:

JetBlue to Kingston, Jamaica in April and Bogota, Colombia in May
Spirit to Denver starting in May
Air Tran to San Juan, Puerto Rico in May
Alaska Airlines will begin service to Seattle in July

Total available seats for the next few months are depicted below. If the above trend continues, traffic
should be up from 2% to 4% for the period.
    Month % Change
    Mar 1.1%
    Apr -2.0%
    May 0.7%
    Jul 1.4%
    Jun 0.8%
    Avg 0.4%

January to February 2012 passenger traffic and market share data for the top 10 carriers are below.

    Spirit 699,641 17.2%
    JetBlue 680,228 16.8%
    Southwest 625,513 15.4%
    Delta 507,538 12.5%
    US Airways 306,903 7.6%
    United 287,099 7.1%
    American 235,577 5.8%
    Airtran 182,789 4.5%
    Air Canada 134,641 3.3%

Some South Florida airports expect busy Easter weekend

Passenger traffic trending up over last year

    By Arlene Satchell, Sun Sentinel
    April 7, 2012

While South Florida airports aren't expecting the crush of activity for Easter as they would for Thanksgiving or Christmas, some airport runways, hallways and roadways will still be busy this weekend.
    How busy?

At Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International passenger traffic Thursday through Monday is expected to be up slightly over the same period last year, with Saturday being the busiest day, spokesman Greg Meyer said Friday.

Meyer said on Saturday not only will people be traveling to get to Easter festivities, many will also be heading to local seaports to catch a cruise.

"We also have a weekend where people are traveling for Passover so it should be very busy," Meyer added.

At Miami International Airport officials are also expecting weekend traffic to be busy, continuing the increase in travelers experienced since April 1.

Since last Sunday, the airport has seen passenger numbers in the range of 104,000 to 126,000 or increases of 11.5 percent to 26.5 percent compared to the same period a year ago, spokesman Marc Henderson said Friday.
