Construction of the 46-story development is on schedule to get underway in Downtown Miami’s Brickell neighborhood this summer and be completed in 2014.

South Florida-based real estate development firm Newgard Development Group has selected John Moriarty & Associates of Florida (JMAF) as general contractor for BrickellHouse, a 374-unit luxury condominium tower in the heart of Downtown Miami’s elite Brickell neighborhood. Construction of the 46-story development, located at 1300 Brickell Bay Drive, is on schedule to get underway this summer and be completed in 2014.
“We are excited to get started on such a unique project that will occupy one of the last parcels of prime developable land in the Downtown Miami/Brickell district,” said John Leete, executive vice president of John Moriarty & Associates of Florida. “Once we complete construction, BrickellHouse’s stunning views, convenient location, and innovative technology and design will make it one of the most coveted places to live in South Florida.”

Miami City Commissioner Marc Sarnoff – speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony for the proposed 374-unit Brickell House condo tower on July 18, 2012 – predicts as many as 17 construction cranes will be assembled in Greater Downtown Miami and Coconut Grove by the end of 2013.
Brickell House received FAA approval this week to erect a tower crane for construction.
The crane is to reach a height of 545 feet above ground level. The crane is proposed to be active for a period of 17 months, from 11/01/2012 to 04/01/2014.

The foundation for Miami’s BrickellHouse condominium project has been poured, with teams of trucks providing the concrete for about 15 hours straight, according to contractor John Moriarty & Associates of Florida.
Project executive Rick Schuerger said four concrete pumps were running simultaneously to complete the large concrete mat foundation.
In this photo they are pouring concrete for another floor.
They’re not very visible from this angle but from higher floors, looking down on the site, you can see thousands of feet of blue lines snaking around the re-bar. Can anyone tell me what all these blue cables are?
Thanks
